Hello everyone!
My name is Lauren Steele and I’m from the small town of
Goodlettsville, Tennessee. I’m a business management major and unbelievably
blessed to be a member of the GLS Class of 2016. I’ve wanted to study abroad
since my junior year of high school and I’m finally doing it. There are only
three days left until our plane takes off for London and I’m filled with mixed
emotions. On one hand, I’m nervous. I’ve never been outside of the country
before and I’m not sure what to expect. On the other hand, I’m incredibly
excited! Not only will I be in one of the biggest cities in the world, but I’ll
also be living with twenty-five of my best friends. After working together to
survive the challenging past semester, we sort of became our own little family.
I fall more in love with these people during every minute I spend with them and
I know we’ll have the time of our lives together in London.
I have high hopes for this experience. You see, my whole
life I’ve had this desire to be someone, to do something. I want to change the
world for the better. This may seem like a silly thing for me to say, but it’s
true. I know that if I work hard enough and take advantage of all the
opportunities I’ve been given, I can achieve it. As they say, the journey of a
thousand miles begins with one step. Studying abroad in London will be the
first large step I’ve taken and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.
Cheers,
Lauren
