Last semester was a cruel mistress. But we made it. And with my GPA resuscitated by finals, I'm optimistic about the years to come. I realize how amazing this opportunity is, and I thank God that I have been blessed with the health and endurance to see this moment arrive. I also acknowledge how much the GLS staff has contributed to making this far-off destination a reality. Andrew and Pam, I will forever owe you one. But here we are, only a few days from departing upon our greatest adventure to date. Wednesday looms on the horizon, swelling up emotions within my soul that I haven't felt since the first days of middle school summer camps. However, to say I was nervous about the trip would be an overstatement. I've determined that the perfect phrase would be more or less that I'm feeling, as MGMT phrased, "mildly apprehensive, with blank dreams of the coming fun." Blank being quite apropos because I've yet hear a reply concerning my internship. (fingers crossed) But as of now, I am a Finance major with hopes of interning with a Marketing/Consulting firm within walking distance of our flat. So here's to good friends and fun times.
